Bishop Joseph Strickland of the Diocese of Tyler, Texas has been dubbed ‘America’s Bishop’ because of his unwavering determination to tell the truth of the Gospel when so many other Catholic bishops will not, for fear of reprisal.
You don’t have to be Catholic to find his proclamation of God’s Truth, told with clarity and charity, and his call to us to stand firm in the Faith, a comforting change from the distorted secular view of truth being promoted these days.

In his usual clear style, Pope Benedict XVI outlines details of the lives and theology of the men who were influential in the formation of Church doctrine from her foundation.
After reading Pope Benedict’s book, I decided to try this more detailed tome. I am very glad I did!
As the back blurb says, this book is ‘lucid and comprehensive’ and written ‘with simplicity and clarity.’ Expecting it to be dry and a challenge to read, I instead found it fascinating and instructive.

BOOKS FOR ADVANCEMENT IN PERSONAL SPIRITUALITY
